About Kitchens and More

Kitchens & More is a residential kitchen design, supply and construction company. We have been designing and building kitchens, baths in Marin County since 1992.

Our specialty is kitchen and bath design and construction, but our expertise allows us to go well beyond those parameters.  Browse through our portfolio.  Kitchens & More has designed and built kitchens and baths in every style of Marin County home from Mill Valley Craftsman to Lucas Valley Eichler, Larkspur Cottage to San Rafael Spanish Mission.  Our styles are limitless, enhanced by our vast knowledge of and access to Green and state-of-the-art materials, fixtures and appliances.

Although we’re a local company, our designs are nationally recognized.  Sunset Magazine and the National Kitchen and Bath Association have acknowledged and awarded several Kitchens & More designs.  Pacific Sun’s Best of Marin readers voted Kitchens & More “Best Kitchen & Bath Remodeler” in 2004, 2006 and 2007.  We’re also very proud of feature articles in Better Homes & Gardens, Sunset, Women’s Day, American HomeStyle & Gardening, and the Marin Independent Journal (Click here to read the article).

Krikor Halajian, Designer and Owner of Kitchens & More, is a licensed general contractor, certified kitchen designer and member of the NKBA and a certified Green Building Professional.  His experience in the kitchen and bath remodeling and construction industry spans over 25 years.

Before starting in design and construction, Krikor worked as a civil engineer – a career that took him to Japan and Saudi Arabia, and gave him the opportunity to travel to the Far East, Europe and Africa.  Krikor’s design imagination and inspiration are fueled by his travels and life experiences.  Coupled with his engineering background, Kitchens & More designs are not only rich and imaginative, but also practical and well built.  Clients get the best of both trainings:  precision and creativity.

Rosemarie Halajian, Krikor’s wife and business partner, not only assists our clients in making design material and fixture decisions, and is knowledgeable in Green building.  Her interest in Green building first ignited when she read Interior Concerns by Victoria Schomer, ASID, in 1993.  She currently leads a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) study group for Interior Designers preparing for certification as a LEED AP (Accredited Professional).

Over the years, Rosemarie has learned about building products and design materials that are sustainable and have the least impact on the environment.  Her curiosity continually leads her to innovative and unusual design products.  Since childhood. design and creativity have permeated her life.  From the sewing room of her childhood home to the classroom of the Joffrey Ballet School, she has developed a strong sense of form and balance.  These skills compliment her extensive practical knowledge of new products and materials available in the design/building industry.
